Studio (Equipment sessions)

Studio sessions incorporate the large Pilates equipment, such as the Reformer, Combo Chair and Trapeze.

The equipment is used to challenge and improve strength, control and stability of movements already familiar to you on the mat. Therefore experience of the fundamentals of Pilates Mat Work is necessary in order to derive benefit from these sessions.  The Pilates equipment can be adjusted to control the intensity of an exercise, making it as gentle or as challenging as required.  These sessions are therefore invaluable for specific postural problems, rehabilitation from injury, post physiotherapy, sports specific movements and simply a great way to concentrate on your own specific fitness goals.

Sessions are always tailored to suit individual needs and are a great way of complimenting weekly Mat work classes.  Studio sessions can be private or in small groups to a maximum of 3 clients.

Mat work and Ball classes - Run as 6 week courses

Mat work classes focus on proper alignment of the spine and joints. You will be taught how to use the ‘corset’ muscles of the body to support the spine and will be encouraged to move in a natural, balanced way, moving with your body rather than against it.  Initially the movements are very gentle but become progressively stronger as you gain more strength and control.  Props such as balls, bands and rollers are often used to enhance and challenge your progress in these sessions.  Each session lasts for 1 hour and class numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 clients.  Private or shared Mat work sessions can be arranged by appointment.

My class numbers are restricted to a maximum of 8; this way I can offer more individual attention to my clients.   My passion is balanced, energy efficient movement that suits the individual body, rather than ‘the same movement fits all’; therefore movements are always tailored to suit individual postures and needs.

Cost - 6 week course £50
